What Are The Side Effects Of Vyvanse?

Vyvanse doses of 50-70g/day have made an extraordinary change heightening my levels of focus & concentration. I now have been diagnosed with Bipolar I, however, and my family is concerned. Only one of 5 MDs are concerned about any risk of continued dual dosing. 1) What are the risks, if any, and how would you quantify these, including of Vyvanse triggering mania, but given that I m religious about following my lithium, Cymbalta, Klonopin, Latuda & Remerol, etc., regimen? 2)Is there a first-rate Med Journal study on same? Hello,

As per the medication guide of Lisdexamfetamine, any occurrence of a manic episode or bipolar suspension may necessitate discontinuation of the drug.

In simple words, the matter should not be taken that lightly although everything depends on person’s tolerance. Bipolar being its known side effect remains with no doubt for its etiology as the drug.

Hence, you should talk to your prescriber for an alternate treatment option. As you are already taking the uppermost limit of the dose, you are definitely a good candidate for alternative treatment options.

Apart from that, the drug is known to cause/worsen psychotic symptoms, hallucinations and delusional thinking.

Serotonin syndrome may occur as you are taking other medications concomitantly.

The degree of symptoms can range from mild to severe. Symptoms include high body temperature, agitation, increased reflexes, tremor, sweating, dilated pupils, and diarrhea.

Please do check for these symptoms as well if you want to know for drug adverse reaction profile. The drug may have cardiovascular and renal effects also.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
