Preventive medications used as migraine prophylaxis include: 1. Beta blockers like propranolol, metoprolol tartrate and timolol. 2. Tricyclic antidepressant like amitriptyline 3. Onabotulinumtoxin A 4. Pain relievers like naproxen In case you need to stop current medication and switch over to another, it should be done under medical supervision only.
