What Are The Side Effects Of Sulfameth And Trimethoprim?
My girlfriend keeps throwing up to the point where she is just dry heaving. She has a history of being illergic to most antibiotics. She is recently taking sulfameth/trimethoprim for a sinus infection and I am not sure if that could be the reason as to why she continues to throw up or not. She has not eaten anything today and barely ate a thing yesterday, so I know it can't be food poisoning. What's wrong with her?
Hello She has a history of being allergic to most of antibiotics . She is taking sulphaetho+trimethoprim for sinus infection . Sulpha drug develops nausea, vomiting , dizziness hyeprsensitivity reaction and so many other side effects. Since your girl friend is having vomiting either stop the drug or take some proton pump inhibitors like pantoloc-D tablet. But if severe vomiting is there , consult a doctor and get intravenous infusion . In my opinion for sinus infection ,change the antibiotics like azithromycin ( this may be safe ) . This is not due to food poisoning but due to side effect of antibiotics. Hope this will help you.
