What Are The Side Effects Of Prednisone?

I m taking tramadol 50mg 4 to 6 prn Over the course of 2 months been on 2 different antibiotics and prednisone , discovered that I have 3teeth abscesses dentist couldn t extract because of high blood pressure so it was suggested to get blood pressure medication since starting these 3 medications while taking tramadol has caused some side effects and interference with the tramadol when it was working fine for me. Have had a healthy bp before starting these other 3 medications. Now what?

Hi,

Yes you are right. Prednisone has many side effects and should be very cautiously used. High blood pressure is a common side effect of it. Similarly, it can also predispose to infection and abscess formation. So, I understand it is necessary that we stop steroids.

However do not do it yourself and do not stop it abruptly as it can cause serious problems. Talk to your doctor and probably we need to slowly withdraw from steroids.
