What Are The Side Effects Of Mucinex?

I ve been taking Mucinex for almost three weeks--I ve had an ear/nose/infection with swollen lymph notes, severe cough, extremely swollen throat, difficulty swallowing/eating and laryngitis for about 8 weeks. I m concerned about the side effects of long term usage.

Hello,

Mucinex is a preparation to loosen the mucus in the lower respiratory tract to allow its easy clearance.

The collection of mucus in the respiratory tract is probably due to upper respiratory tract infection (URTI).

Swollen lymph nodes are also probably due to URTI. Mucinex may be continued for 1-2 weeks, however, more prolonged use is not required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
