Morning after pill is
emergency contraceptive pill that is taken to prevent pregnancy after an event of
unprotected intercourse. If it is taken within 72 hours (earlier, it would be still better) of the event, it should protect against pregnancy by causing
breakthrough bleeding within 3 weeks from the day of its intake.
Loestrin 24 Fe contains norethindrone acetate,
ethinyl estradiol and
ferrous sulfate which would prevent ovulation and is used as contraceptive to prevent pregnancy.
Morning after pill contains Levonorgestrel, which would also have a similar action in the form of preventing ovulation and preventing implantation by causing breakthrough bleeding.
There is no need to take another form of pill at this stage since you have already taken the right pill. further, taking another form of pill could land you up in menstrual disturbances.
Kindly wait for the bleeding to happen. In case it doesn't happen by 3 weeks, you need to seek medical attention immediately.
