What Are The Side Effects Of Glycinorm And Istamet?

I am 48 years old male and a Diabetic patient for 5 years. My Glucose level increased rapidly to 295mgs and now HBA1c is 10.3%. My Doctor advised to take Glycinorm M 40 mg - morning & night and Istamet 50/500mg in the afternoon. will it be advisable ? Shall I continue ? would there be any side effects for this medicine? Kindly advice.

Hi,
If I were your treating physician, I will prescribe:
LFT, RFT, ECG, electrolyte, CBC and TSH tests before this medication or ask any history suggestive. Dose of glycinorm can be adjusted according to blood and urinary glucose levels for first few months. B12 and folic acid need to be taken in long term therapy

These symptoms are to be taken care [sweating, shakiness, increased heart rate [>100], anxiety, hunger and loss of consciousness as these symptoms suggest low blood glucose moreover times [do rapid sugar tests] can occur with these drugs. Few generalized helpful tips include:
a] Stop if any caffeine, alcohol, tob, non-veg are taken and include vegetables, salads, fruit [apple, berries, apricot, oranges, pears, peaches are among fruits that can be used]
b] Join online art of living happiness course [it is seen in patients with these suksham yoga, breathing exercises helps in fast recovery and prevents relapse in type 2 diabetes mellitus.

Any unusual finding if found, then immediately refer to physician with above drugs.
