What Are The Side Effects Of Equate?

I have been taking the generic equateTM from walmart for allergy relief, Loratadine tablets, and think I recall something addressing cataracts and now cannot find the information. Do you know if there is a warning to not take this over-the-counter drug if you have cataracts, which I do have currently?

Hello,

Loratadine and other over the counter antihistamines are not a problem when it comes to cataract. Some blame them in the case of glaucome (high pressure within the eye) but most think that they are safe in this case as well.
So, I would say you can safely use them for your allergy relief. The drug that would be a problem in the case of cataract would be generally a steroid orally or as a drop, which you should avoid and never take without the prescription by a doctor.
