What Are The Side Effects Of Beta Cap Plus 5?

hello doctor, i m suffering from ibs&migraine, i used betacapplus5 for 1 month then betacaptr40 for 5 months on nuerologist reference but did not get any improvement, now i met another doctor he suggest me to use betacap plus5 for 6months, is it a correct treatment? kindly suggest.

Hello thanks for asking from HCM for your health related queries

I can understand your concern. Betacap Plus 5 consists of Flunnarizine and Propranolol and Betacap 40 consists of Propranolol only. The drugs can help in prophylaxis of migraine and used to prevent the episodes of headache. As your symptoms are persisting even with the medicines so I'd advise you to consult your doctor again for re-evaluation. Medicines like Amitriptyline, Nortriptyline etc are commonly helpful in persisting headache. These medicines help to control the headache effectively and will lift your mood. Medicines like Pregabalin or Gabapentin also help to reduce the incidences of pain. Please visit your doctor for prescription of these drugs.

Apart from this I'd advise you to avoid carbonated drinks, alcohol, tea, coffee etc for some days. Have at least 7 hours good refreshing sleep. While going out use sunglasses as this will prevent headache.
