What Are The Precautions I Need To Take While Taking Rabipur Injection?

Hi Sir,

One of my friend's dog bite me and at that time i was taken alcohol so didnt went to doctor and later taken TT injection and next day i have taken Rabipur injection, Dr advised me to take 3 rabipur injections and no need to follow certian diet and i also asked him if i drunk while in the period of injections means he said nothing to worry and also i have habit of smoking. Can you please advise me

No, intake of alcohol doesn't reduce the effectiveness of vaccinations, so you don't need to repeat your vaccine shots.


Detailed answer:
Dear user,

I really understand your concern.

There are done some studies for relationship between alcohol intake and the effectiveness of vaccinations but none of them has shown that intake of alcohol reduces the effectiveness of vaccinations, so there is no truth in this statement. You don't need to repeat your vaccine shots.

However, drinking alcohol around 1 to 2 hours before/after vaccine shot isn't advisable, as per avoiding any interaction. If you don't see any "trouble" after injections, there's nothing to worry about.
