General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

It is generally harmless unless the KY is dried up. When used even after its expiry KY jelly usually does not cause any side effect but local side effects like pain, rash or irritation leading to inflammatory response in individuals who are allergic may occur. Unless you experience burning or itching with it, it is likely to be just fine. If it bothers you or your partner, discontinue it.

Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
