What Are The Chances Of The Re-occurrence Of Wasp Sting Reactions After Several Years?

Hi,I received a sting on my forearm from a wasp several years ago and occasionally it still swells up and turns large sections of my forearm red (this is where the sting is). My arm becomes red and itchy and it seems that I am receiving the same side effects of a wasp sting but without the sting taking place. Have you got any idea why this could be happening Thank you

Hello,

It is unlikely related to wasp stings.

As first-line management, you can take an antihistamine like cetirizine for symptomatic relief.

If symptoms persist better to consult a dermatologist and get evaluated.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain, General & Family Physician
