What Are The Chances Of Survival In Patients With CHF?
what does it mean when they diagnosis my dad with chf and said only 10% of his heart is working and he has diabeties and they said because it was uncontrolled that it has ate up his heart muscle.... they say that his ef is pass pacemaker stage and that possible heart transplant is the only option... can a person live with just 10 percent of there heart working?
Usually such patients are managed medically until they get heart transplant. In case medications don't help, there are devices, which called bridge to transplant. They help the heart to work, and some can work instead of heart, until transplant is available.
Hope I could help you
