What Are The Chances Of Pregnancy After Taking Ipills?

HI Doctor, I had unprotexted sex with my girl friend 3days before her period was due. she took an IPill within 18 hours but she has not got her period even after a week. please do let me know, if it is getting delayed or there is a chance of pregnancy. thanks,

Hi,
Are your girl friend's menstrual cycles regular. If so the first and last week of her menstrual cycle are safe period. Having unprotected sex during that period does not result in pregnancy. THERE WAS NO NEED TO TAKE I PILL IF HER CYCLES ARE REGULAR.

I PILL itself delays periods if taken in the second half of menstrual cycle ( as is in your girl friend's case). So wait for another 4-5 days. In all probability she will start her period by that time.

I PILL taken within 24 hours is 95% effective in preventing pregnancy. Thus there is a 5% possibility of method failure. So IF HER CYCLES ARE IRREGULAR then there is a small possibility of pregnancy. So if she doesn't get periods in 5 days time get her pregnancy test done.
