What Are The Chances Of Descent Of Testicle In My Child?

Hi my son was born with his right testicle undecsended and he is now 9 1/2 months old. his testicle is still higher than it should be. i have to take him back to see the doctor when he's a year old to see if it has come down.
what are the chances of it coming down on its own before he turns 1, should i be ready for him to need surgery ?

Hello. I just read through your question. In the majority of cases, the testicle comes down on it's own. As long as the doctor is able to palpate the testicle, there is generally no problem. It is less common to require surgery. However, if surgery is ultimately required, it is a very simple and safe procedure and he will be just fine.
