What Are The Chances Of Contracting HIV After Protected Oral And Vaginal Sex?
I know this is probably a bad decision on my part but... I had a sexual encounter with an escort today. She told me she was clean. We used protection during oral sex then changed the condom during vaginal sex. It didnt appear that the condom broke. My question is what is the likely hood that I have contracted HIV and secondly would it be obvious if a condom failed? Thank you
The risk of HIV transmission through oral sex is relatively low when compared to the vaginal sex (high risk). However, several factors like sores in the mouth or vagina or penis, bleeding gums, oral contact with menstrual blood and other STDs can increase the risk of HIV transmission through oral sex.
Using a barrier method such as condom or dental dam during oral and vaginal (condom) sex can reduce the risk of HIV, other STDs ad hepatitis transmission. Also, if there in breach in the barrier, the risk is high again. If there is any chance of tear in condom or Ejaculation occurred and your partner seems to be positive for HIV, then take post- exposure prophylaxis.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
