What Are The Benefits Of An Ablation As Compared To A Pacemaker?

I have had 3 cardioversion for afib. another one scheduled for Monday. Each time my cardiologist has changed antiarrhythmic meds. He said I have 1 more med. I can try after this one (I am also asthmatic). Then he said my best bet is for a pacemaker if these don t work. I have read about the ablation. What are the benefits of an ablation vs pacemaker?

Cardiologist 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for trusting HCM
I read your query and understand your concern
Unfortunately the always of treatment aren't the same thing
Ablations is efficient when cardiologist are sure that your atrial fibrillation is caused from a new node and ablation permanently resolve it
Pacemaker would be the best option when you can't dominate your cardiac frequency.
You need to give us more information or your last examination so we can be more helpful.
Wish you good health and fast recovery
Hope my answer had helped you
Don't hesitate to contact me for further information or clarification
