What Are Side Effects Of Valparin Chrono?
Hello Dr i m milan patel & i want to ask some question related to valparin chrono.
Sir my wife is suffering from epillepsy from last few yrs & she takes valparin 300 twice a day by DR advice.
from last few months i notice that her body is going on increasing & she became very fat so i want to know that is this a side effect of medicene or what?
And after how much period she can stop taking medicene or she has to take it for the life time.
Sir please give me the solution of my question.

Valparin could cause weight gain in some patients. However you say that she has been taking it for a few years, while gaining weight only for the last few months, so perhaps you should consider other factors causing the increase in weight.
If Valparin is responsible you could talk with your doctor about switching to another anti-epileptic, there are many other anti-epileptics available.
Epilepsy treatment often is for a lifetime, however if a patient has had no seizures for at least two years one could consider the risk of stopping to take it, but never abruptly, very gradually and after consulting the doctor who knows the details of your case.
