What Are Side Effects Of Exposure To Aqua Regia While Refining Gold?

Hello. About 6 months ago I started refining gold using chemicals called Aqua Regia.I havent used the chemicals in about 2 months but I have been reading some lititure on these chemical and they are deadly.One of the gasses that it produces is nitrogen dioxide and sulfer dioxide.I am 100% shure that I was exposed to these gasses and inhailed them.Should I go see a toxicoligst or a doctor.I have noticed dificultie breathing sometimes.Also my limp nodes in my neck are swollen and I have been having dizzy spells.I went to a local doctor and didnt tell him about the chemicals but described my sympotims and he said it was my sinuis and ears making me dizzy.What should I do?

From what you are describing, my thoughts go for possible poisoning from gases produced while refining gold with Aqua Regia (nitrogen dioxide and sulfer dioxide). As you have not mentioned your job to the ENT specialist, I totally agree you need to see a toxicologist and run a few diagnostic tests to rule out possible poisoning and get appropriate treatment. For the moment, I highly recommend to stop working on gold refining until totally recovered.
