What Are Recurring Migraines, Extreme Fatigue And Joint Pain Suggestive Of?

I m a 35 year old female with only 1 ovary left. I was going to a dr and got a diagnosis of: well some doctors would say you have lupus but you are responding well to a diet so... I didn t go back The reason for this diagnosis was because of my history of kidney issues due to stress and damage from 2 pregnancies. Asthma with a cough that my family describes as a deer grunt (it s worse when I eat gluten) Severe migraines, extreme fatigue and joint pain I ve have been recently diagnosed with low B12, Low testosterone, I had protein in my urine without an infection and a cyst on my remaining ovary. I will be going to a rheumotologist in the next few weeks. What questions should I be asking? My family dr says that I would be an excellent candidate for BioTE but I am very concerned since I have one ovary and have tried to keep from taking any hormones due to a family history of breast cancer (both of my mom s sisters and their mother s sister) and having had a lump already.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

It is good that you are going to consult a rheumatologist for the symptoms you are having. Depending on your current health some blood tests will be advised. Once the diagnosis is made further treatment will be planned. Regarding the questions you should be asking, the outcomes, prognosis of the disorder. Also if you are willing to be a mother then what precautions you should be taking regarding the medications. As well as any doubt that comes in your mind you should freely ask to your doctor.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Manisha Auradkar, General & Family Physician
