What Are Persistent Headache, Dizziness, Impaired Thoughts And Low BP Suggestive Of?

My sister has been admitted to the hospital 2 weeks ago for having the following symptoms: Severe headaches, internal & external tremors, short term memory loss, confusion, dizziness, unbalanced, throat contracting as if she s suffocating, fluctuating low blood pressure (very low in the a.m. like 78/45), back pain, loss of mobility (walking)? The doctors initially thought MS but since her symptoms got progressively worse from one day to the next, they thought perhaps no this can t be MS. The doctors could not figure out what she has so they transferred her to another much larger hospital (Rutgers Hospital, Newark NJ). Do you have any idea what this could be?

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have headache, dizziness, impaired thoughts and low BP . Well there can be many reasons for symptoms you mention in query middle ear infection , labyrinthitis , hypotension or heart rhythm disorder. But in your case the symptoms aare probably due to low BP .

I would suggest you to consult cardiologist for proper diagnosis and to rule out more serious condition first . Doctor may order ECG , TMT along with complete blood profile and check vitals. and treat accordingly .

Doctor may also refer you to ENT specialist for ear problem or chest specialist for chest problem . For now avoid bending forward , drink plenty of water and electrolyte solution .

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Get Well Soon.

Best Wishes,
