What Are Causes & Treatment For Ice Pick Headaches?

I have what appears to be ice pick headaches, (from what I read). They describe them exactly the way I feel like a sharp object is push through my head lasts only 5 or 6 seconds and then gone. The information states that they appear a few times a day, I am currently suffering 6 or 7 an hour? Should I be worried or do you think I need to see a doctor?

Hello,
Thank you for your question and welcome to Health Care Magic. I read your query and I understand your concern and the anguish that you are having.

It sounds like you have a migraine. A migraine is a type of recurrent headache which occurs due to a trigger factor. In your case you may find it useful to identify the trigger factor. Here are a few possibilities:
Certain foods
Cold
Weather changes
Diseases
Weakness
Sun or warmth

Also, try the following for some time before you see a Doctor:
Inhale steam mixed with Eucalyptus oil to clear the nasal passages
Take a Paracetamol 500 when you feel you are about to get a headache
Drink lots of water
Sleep well and get at least 8 hours of sleep a day
Eat meals at regular times

Follow up after 5 days. All the best.
Hope this helps you. Feel free to clarify further.
