Wet Cough During Night And Early Morning, Blood Stains On Pillow. Is There Anything To Worry?

My husband has a deep, wet cough during the night and early morning. Yesterday I found blood stains on his pillow case. Two years ago his doctor said he has significant scarring on his lungs but my husband will not go for additonal xrays. I am very scared for him and feel as if there isn t anything I can do to make him take care of himself.

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hello,
He needs to get done chest x rays.
You can take mucolytics and avoid smoking if he does .
There could be some infection and if not taken care of right now it will be difficult later.
Or else at least get a chest physician consultation done there he can be examined and the doctor can do respiratory system examination and advice medicines accordingly
I find this answer helpful
