Do I Need Clexane Injection Before Long-distance Flight Travel While Having DVT?
Hi, I had a dvt 12 years ago. I would like to know if I need to take a clexane injection for long flight travel. I m not on any meds for blood thinning and haven t been for 10 years. Thank you

Keep yourself active. Perform calf exercises while on flight. Short duration flights don't pose any risk to develop DVT, but longer duration flights do.

Hi,
If you are diagnosed case of DVT you must be on oral anticoagulant. So far DVT prophylaxis use of injection Clexane is not recommended for long flights. To develop DVT in someone person should chronic bedridden. On the other hand while travelling don't sit sit still we do continuous movements of limbs to change postures like we use lavatory folding and unfolding the limbs. If you have some blood Dyscrasia then only can think of it. Otherwise, you don't need such prophylaxis.
