Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
We took our daughter today for an x-ray at an urgent care as our pediatrician was not open. They determined that she has a mallet finger of her left ring finger. The finger is not fractured. They splinted it as best they could due to the fact that she is only 5. They hyperextended the tip of her finger in the splint. I was told that we should leave the splint on until we can be seen by a doctor next week. They are sending us to a plastic surgeon. Does this course of action seem correct?
