Using CPAP For Mild Sleep Apnea, Feeling Tired. Takes Daily Supplements, Healthy Diet. Any Hidden Illness?

My husband is 75 years old, has never smoked, doesn't drink, has never had high BP or colesterol and exercises daily and keeps his weight average. He takes supplements daily and eats a healthy diet. He recently started using a CPAP again for "mild to moderate" sleep apnea. He is constantly tired, and wakes up feeling tired and not refreshed. I am concerned that his family practioner will look at him and say he is healthy and not be thorough in coming up with a diagnosis. It is NOT normal for a man in his shape to be tired constantly. He gets out and we have friends and he enjoys a marriage of 50 years. His wife is also quite healthy. I'm worried about some hidden illness...one often hears of men his age being diagnosed with leukemia.

Hi!
welcome to HCM!
you are concerned that your husband's tiredness may be related to leukemia as you have heard it affects elderly men but to your relief this is not true.leukemia is a blood disorder which can occur in any age from childhood till old age and it has a set of clinical signs and symptoms which raise the suspicion if the person is affected by leukemia.
your husband seems to be tired and not feels refreshed after night's sleep this may be due to CPAP machine.
When you are using CPAP, you need to see your doctor or sleep specialist regularly. You may also need more sleep studies to adjust the CPAP machine and check whether the treatment is working.
It may take time for him to become comfortable with using CPAP. If he cannot get used to it, talk to your doctor. You might be able to try another type of mask or make other adjustments.
hope this will help you!

Homeopath Dr. C. J. Varghese's  Response
Hello bar1bill,
You have given all details about your husband's health condition, but missed the most important causative aspect in producing illness. I mean about his mind.
Till recently if he had good health, and if he started getting deteriorated recently, then he must have met with a psychological conflict which remains unresolved.
You have mentioned about alcohol, smoke, high BP, cholesterol etc. as causes of sickness and forgot to mention about his mental condition. You mean to say that these factors are causing illness.
If you have noticed the suddenness in his deterioration, the conflict also will be an unexpected and shocking one. The type conflict will decide the type of diseases he is having or he is going to have.
I am a Homoeopath and so giving you some different concepts about illness. Instead of finding what disease he is having, try to bring out the life situations he has and examine how he is reacting to them. His reactions both in the mental and physical levels will be based on his genetic and constitutional peculiarities. His individualistic sensitivities and reactions will tell an expert Homoeopathic practitioner which curative remedy is to be given to him to bring him back to lasting health.
Leukaemia is one among several forms of malignant diseases he may develop. Leukaemia can easily be diagnosed by blood examinations.
Get his investigations done at the earliest and if you and your husband are interested to get Homoeopathic treatment, get back to me with the details.I can help your husband with Homoeopathic curative remedy.
With best wishes ,
Dr C. J. Varghese,
Homoeopath
