Ultrasound Shows Baby's Valve Is Not Closed Properly. Is It Dangerous?
My daughter in law is 6 months pregnant and was told yesterday that the baby's valve was not closing properly in the ultrosound she's suppose to go to Louisville,ky. after the first of the year for more tests. Is this common in unborn children and is it dangerous
It is not that common but what is being observed is a possible prolapse of a valve (most commonly seen is a mitral valve prolapse). It does not really cause any dangers to the individual but can result in effects like raised blood pressure, different temperament altogether, etc. Some times it does get corrected with time, but before delivery.
Hope this helps.
Best wishes.
