Hello doctor, I have a history of epilepsy, It has been over 10 years since I have had any episodes. I sometimes jerk when stressed or tired which is normal for me, But lately I have been experiencing tremors in my hands mostly on the left side and this morning my lower jaw has been trembeling. I am only 34 and currently and not taking epiliespy medicne. Could my epilespy be returning? I don't know what is going on.

Neurologist 's  Response
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

Tremors in the hands are not a sign of epilepsy, so, there is no need to worry.

In most cases, the tremors in hands are physiological due to anxiety or stress. In some cases, they can also be due to familial tremors.

If they are mild, there is no need to worry. However, if they are severe interfering with your activities of daily living, you should consult a neurologist, for diagnosis and treatment.

I hope my reply has helped you.

I would be pleased to answer, if you have any follow up queries or if you require any further information.

Best wishes,
