Treatment For Painful Cut On Butt Crack

Hello, my boyfriend has a razor blade type looking cut that starts above the butt crack all the way down to his anus. I ve been using neosporin and now switched to a triple antibiotic cream with pain relief. Nothing is helping and it s very painful. I was told by a pharmacist that if it s not infected that I don t need. To use either one of those meds but just plain Vaseline. So I did and it looks worse now. Any suggestions? He is in ALOT OF PAIN THERE

Hi,

Your boyfriend may be having intergluteal intertrigo with fissure. It may be due to candidal infection superadded with bactetial infection. In this area fissure is very painful due toto streching the skin while sitting. Tell him to take rest in sleeping position. Sitz bath in dettol water in tub daily for fove minutes during bath would be helpful. To apply antibiotic cream like gentamycine with antifungal cream like clotrimazole might reduce the infection. Pain killer like nimesulide, antibiotics,antifungal..etc may be given. You consult dermatologist for firm diagnosis and treatment. He may be improved with few week treatment.I hope you got my answer.
