For almost a year, I have had a severe chapped upper lip, which cracks in one spot on the right side. I have awakened in the morning from sleep with very swollen lips that within a couple of hours goes away. At the same time, my eye lids, mostly my right eye, swell also and the top of the lid, on the inside area are dry patchy and very itchy. My eye is often tearing. At times, like today, both eyes became so itchy and then so did the area around my chin and sides of my mouth. My dertmatologist said it was contact dermatitis...but there have never been any blisters or redness at all. She gave me Desonide cream, 0.05%, which I use at night. I have stopped wearing any makeup almost completely which I can t stand. But the slightest eye liner or mascara...no matter the brand or whether or not brand new....by the end of the day it s horrible. I thought originally, that the lip issue started after using those all-day wear-ever lipsticks.....but then why the eyes, too? I don t know whether to go back to the dermatologist or an allergist....or what. Thank you for your time and assistance. Karen Biddiscombe
