Tightness In Chest. Was Electrocuted A Week Ago. Meet Doctor?
My husband was pretty badly electrocuted 1 week ago when our basement was flooded and he grabbed the sub pump from under water. He was in the hospital, had some tests they gave him some meds to calm his heart rate. It is now 1 week later and he is complaining about a tightness in his chest. Should we be going to get it checked out?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Prateek's Response
Yes, Re-examination is required since the pain has increased now, it is unlikely that pain is due to chocking of coronary arteries of heart however it is necessary to rule out the same. Most probably the tightness in chest is due to cardiac arrhythmia or injury to the chest wall during electrocution. Your doctor would be able to tell after examination and performing CPK test and ECG
