The Sonogram And Ultrasound Report Says Multiple Hypoechoic Lesions In The Uterine Myometrium And Endometrial Echo Is Distorted At Place. Is Surgery Required For Its Treatment?

Hello Doctor, I am Minati, My age is 34. Married since 4 years. my recent sonogram and ultrasound report says, I have multiple hypoechoic lesions of 70x57 mm, 38x32 mm, 38x31 mm, and 32x22 mm in the uterine myometrium, endometrial echo is distorted at place. ET: 5-6 mm. Cavity is empty. Normal cervix. A large inhomogenous-hypoechoic lesion of 150x107 mm size having fairly well defined margin is seen over the uterine fundus, extending to the right hyocondrium- Pendunculated fibroid. Does this hamper my pregnancy? Should I go for a surgery? In such case, is my uterus need to be removed? what will be the complications and risk involved if I opt for a surgery especially to my pregnancy

Hello,

Fibroids are benign neoplasms of the uterine muscle. Fibroids particularly submucosal ones cause hindrances in pregnancy. Pedunculated fibroid won't cause any harm. There are multiple treatment options for fibroids. Including hormonal therapy and simple removal of fibroids only without uterus removal. So you can plan for pregnancy later on.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Siddartha
