Taking Trazodone For Years, Increased Dosage, Had Blurry Vision. Side Effect Of Trazodone ?

I have been taking Trazodone for 8 years. Went from 150 mg to 100 mg 4 mos ago..Recently went to 50 mg. I ve had blurry vision for some time and thought it was something else but the pharmacist said it is due to the Trazodone. I want to get off completely. Will see my MD in 3 wks. How long does this blurry vision go on. What will happen if I just stop Trazodone altogether?

hi there,
dont stop tazodone suddenly as you may experience withdrawal symptoms
some of withdrawal symptoms are: dizziness, electric shock-like sensations, sweating, nausea, motion sickness, insomnia, tremor, confusion, emotional lability, anger outbursts, nightmares, and vertigo.

decrease the dose gradually and replace it with another antidepressant after consultation with your doctor.
If i was your treating doctor,i would like to do a complete eye examination to rule out any serious pathology first before labeling blurred vision as medication side effect although blurred vision is indeed on of the side effect of trazodone.

it wil take some time before you get rid of it,meanwhile avoid driving and operating machinery and going up hieghts..

hope i hv answer your query
i wil b glad to help if you hv any further query
wish you best of health..
