Swollen, Tender Gland In Groin After Treating Swelling And Itching In The Area Caused By Shaving. Suggested Treatment?
When I went to shave my pubic area I noticed a small red spot near my left groin but in the pubic area. A few hours after shaving, the area began to swell, itch and is about the size of a quarter. I used a cream for insect bites and it reduced the swelling and itch for a few hours. A day later a gland is swollen and tender in the left groin. I have been searching online but can't find a description like this.
It s important to get a complete clinical review to be sure that swollen glands are due to a local inflammation or infection. Depending on the local clinical evaluation, possible causative agents, mechanisms shall be gotten which shall afcilitate prescription of required drugs. Other tests could also be asked like the complete blood count, or in extreme cases, a node biopsy if necessary. I suggest you consult your primary care physician first.
Kind regards,
Bain LE, MD.
