Swollen Legs And Ankles, Pain In Legs. Taking Inflammatory Drugs. Suggestions?

hi ive recently been abroad on holiday and when we landed back here i had swollen legs and ankles , the following morning the swelling had gone down but i was left with really awful throbbing pains in both legs. i have been to see my gp and he did a thourough check and told me to take anti inflamatry tablets for a few days , but failing that go back , but can not sleep as im in so much pain ..

Hi, Thanks for using HCM.
I hope you are not on any other drugs and not sufferibg from any other systemic disease. After long travel in flight and swelling and pain may be due to 2 important reasons like compression of vein due to prolonged sitting without movements and has caused venou stasis for swelling and then pain. The other chance is thrombus formation also. So If severe pain get one dopler done to rule out any PVD. Since after examination your doctor has put you on NSAID, i hope 1st reason for your pain. Take warm compression with NSAID, keep your legs in raised position when not working. Consult your doctor for further management.
