Hello,

This may be due to calf muscle weakness because it was not put to use before.

You may need physiotherapy to strengthen your legs muscles.

You legs muscles need enormous strength to stand for 10 hrs a day.

At the same time you need to take all the precautionary measures to prevent Varicose veins in the further.

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement Dr. K. Naga Ravi Prasad's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

All the symptoms in your description suggests a SOFT TISSUE STRAIN possibly involving gastrosoleal muscles due to unaccustomed physical activity.

This is generally self limiting. Please follow the below mentioned guidelines -

* Judicious use of muscle relaxants and analgesic medications
* Moist heat application to reduce stiffness in the muscles
* Gentle stretching of the involved muscle groups during prolonged standing

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
