I was bitten by a horse fly 2 weeks ago and had quite a swelling on my arm . I took anti histamines. However since then I have extreme muscle pain from the neck downwards and can only function and move by taking paracetemol and ibruphophene. The glands behind my ears are tender and I feel as if I am developing a cold but nothing develops

If there are signs of inflammation along with this symptoms, then possibility of infection secondary to fly bite needs to be considered. And this might need a course of antibiotics.
