Swollen And Painful Abscess, Couple Of Years Ago Had Surgically Removed The Same. How To Treat This?
Hi,
I had an abscess two years ago and got it surgically removed. I recently traveled on a long flight (14 hrs straight) and the area where I got operated seems to be swollen and the pain is unbearable. I have a feeling the abscess has grown back. However it is not as big or bad as it was 2 yrs ago. Can this be treated without surgery or is surgery the only option?
hello there! Thank you for asking. Whether it is surgically drainagable or simple conservative therapy would be sufficient all depends after being examined and assessed the damage. For that you need to see a general surgeon and let him decide what to do what not to. But usually abscess always need drainage irrespective of the quantity of them. Good Luck S khan
