Swelling In Clitoris, Redness, Itching. No Sex For 2 Weeks, Regular Partner. Remedy?

I have swelling on one side of my clitoris, redness in the creases and constant itching. It started about 36hours ago. I,m 53 and had a period last week. I have a regular partner and haven't had sex for two weeks. I,ve never had anything like this before. How can I ease this until I get to see the nurse? Would appreciate your advice. Bev .

Hello.
Thanks for writing to us.
The symptoms that you are having are likely to be due to a vaginal infection like vulvovaginitis. This needs oral pain killers and broad spectrum antibiotics after a vaginal swab culture.
I hope this information has been both informative and helpful for you.
