Suggestion For Frequent Headaches Relieved Only By Rizatriptan?

I am a 72 year young female. I have been seeing a neurologist for at least 8 years for headaches. I have been on preventative medicine (amatriptoline, nortriptolene (both of which gave me such a dry mouth I could hardly talk), Topamax (which made me feel very strange). I presently take rizatriptan 10 mg when I get a headache, but I seem to keep rebounding on them. I have been diagnosed as chronic migraine, although I do not get typical migraine headaches, such as auras, nausea, and need to lay down in a dark room. I typically feel a little better when I get up and move around or concentrate on other things. But usually after awhile, they typically get so intense (feeling like pins and needles stabbing into the left/front side of my head, and my neck feels like it will break,) then I have to take a rizatriptan. The doctor has put me on methylpred pak 4 mg in Oct. 2013 and I got relief for about 3 weeks, then the headaches came back. I was on it again a couple of weeks ago and felt pretty good for about 3 weeks, and now they are back. My neurologist, who specializes in MS has now sent me to his colleague who is a headache expert, and he just put me on (what I think he said was only tested in about 40 patients)j Namenda XR, which is an alzheimer medicine. He said they did a study in a few Alzheimer patients and it seemed to reduce their headaches. I have my reservations about this drug. You increase from 7 mg to 28 mg over a 4-week period, and I only started on them one week ago, and I have had severe headaches all week. I am told that I should not take more than 10 rizatriptan a month, but I have not been told what to do when my head is ready to explode and my neck feels like it cannot hold my head any longer. I am so confused now, and I am really lacking confidence in my doctor. I am in fairly good health aside from these headaches. I live a very active life, and whenever I make plans for vacation or visits to my children, I have to worry if I am going to get a headache. I get at least 25 headaches a month and the only thing that relieves them is rizatriptan. Any suggestions?
