Suggested Left Shoulder Arthroscopy, Rotator Cuff Repair. Do I Need To Go To Top Hospital Or Outpatient Surgery Center?
I'm going to have surgery: Left shoulder arthroscopy, rotator cuff repair, subacromial decompression, debridment. Would it be better to have it done at a top rated hospital or is out-patient surgery center owned by the doctors ok? I'm on Medicare, with AARP Plan F supplement. Doctor has 14 years experience and is board certified and fellowship trained.

Shoulder arthroscopy for a rotator cuff repair and subacromial decompression is definitely a major surgery which has to be done by an experienced arthroscopic surgeon having adequate skill in shoulder surgeries.
Its always better to opt for a good hospital (though not top rated) with state of the art operation theatre facilities and OT personnel in order to lessen the chances of infection. This procedure cannot be done in an outpatient department.
