My wedding is on 25th Nov 2016 and I got my last periods on 2nd or 3rd Nov 2016, I want to postpone my periods next month to 13th or 14th as I will have wedding functions on my period date, I consulted my family doctor she suggested me to take ovral I from 25th Nov till 13th Nov to postpone my periods plus to avoid pregnancy. My question is does Ovral I postpone periods when consumed?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,
Thanks for posting in HCM.
I understand your concern.
Ovral L tablet contains low doses of synthetic estrogen 'Ethinyl Estradiol' and synthetic progestin 'Levonorgestrel'. It is used as an contraceptive pill, to regularise periods as well as to postpone the periods.
Kindly consume the pill as advised. Once you stop the medication, the pill should cause withdrawal bleeding within a week to ten days.
Hope the information provided would be helpful.
All the best.
