Suggest Treatment To Get Rid Of Genital Herpes

Recently Been diagnosed with genital herpes. Spouse (only intimate partner ever) has had no symptoms. This we think, has been dormant for years. Do not think he has been with anyone else for quite a few years. First outbreak took 2 prescriptions of Valtrex to clear up. 2nd break 4 months later. Blisters in vagina area. Starts out as an itch, then stinging like burning sensation. As he has never had any blisters, could it be something else or is that possible?

Hallow Dear,

Herpes genitalis is a nasty viral infection which is known for its recurrence. The main underlying cause for this infection could be HIV. Therefore, please get your blood examined for HIV. Also, get your blood examined for CD4 count. Usually when herpes genitalis sets in, CD4 count is lower than 350, if HIV positive.

If you are a person living with HIV, you will need anti retroviral therapy (ART) to control HIV virus. This will help you get control over herpes genitalis.

Local cleanliness and some anti-viral medicines help to keep this infection within tolerable extent. You have to take due care during sexual relations lest spread to the partner.

Please report to the HIV counselling centre.

I hope this helps you.
