Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query yellow lump at back of tongue is due to enlarged circumvallate papilla. This can occur secondary to any bacterial or fungal infection or trauma. it could be due to allergic reaction to any medicine or food product. I would suggest you nothing to worry about it as it is normal anatomy. Use can use a interdental brush and soft bristle brush to prevent food lodgement there and for cleaning that area to prevent microbial accumulation. Do gargling with warm salt water. Drinking plenty of warm fluids. Avoid allergens and irritants, such as smoke and chemicals. Take Ibuprofen and Acetaminophen combination. Symptoms will resolve in one week and if it keeps on persisting visit ENT specialist once.

Hope your concern has been resolved.
