Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a small white bump on the outside of my lip that is not painful or filled like a pimple but has a scabby textured head. Almost looks and feels like a small white wart. Not sure if it's cancerous or if I'm just freaking out, but it's definitely got me worried
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain a white bump o the lip that has a scabby texture can be due to bacterial infection.. Other causes can be allergic reaction, bug bite, Viral infection causing Herpes, swollen Sebaceous Gland etc.. I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation and if needed scraping from the bump and blood tests can help in diagnosis and treatment can be planned accordingly.. As of now you can do cool compresses over it.. Apply antiseptic ointment.. Avoid scraping or lancing it to prevent infection..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora.
