Suggest Treatment For Wheezing And Shortness Of Breath
3 month ago I was diagnosed with COPD ( the only symptom I had at the time was shortness of breath mainly when walking up stairs) The doctor prescribed me an asthma inhaler and seretine ?? a purple spray and a steroid pill that I inhale. Since taking these medications I am now suffering with constant wheezing, chesty couch feels like I have a chest infection , tightness of the chest and it is getting worse. I felt much better off the medications than on them. Why would this be happening / and Should I stop it altogether??
* As per my clinical experience, the tightness of chest after inhaler use may be in relation with chocking of airways via respiratory secretions most likely.
* Addition of mucolytic agents do serve best in this type of clinical conditions.
* There can be need of adjustment of dosages of the inhaler as well as type of medication used for the purpose of inhalation.
* Till that time, following measures will help you
- taking deep breath
- avoidance of exposure to pollen, atmospheric dust
- use face mask wisely
- avoid smoking ( primary as well as secondary )
- control of blood sugar and cholesterol
- avoid over weight.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Take care
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel
