Suggest Treatment For Vomiting And Migraine Headache

I have had a headache everyday for the past year. At times I throw up. I had an MRI, CT- Scan, XRays and they say that I am fine. My temples are so tender to touch, the top of my head is also tender and on my neck behind my ears. I have been given Cymbalta - did absolutely nothing. I was put on a daily headache medicine - did nothing. Was given Migraine Medicine - did nothing. I was initially told after having a CT-Scan or MRI I can t remember which one that there was a mass at the base of my skull so I needed to have the other test. After having that test they said that the opening at the base of my skull is larger that what it should be but no worries but they also said that on the right side of my skull there is a void but it is in the normal variance so they have done nothing with this. I am looking for some direction on who I should see. Obviously I have an issue of some kind or I wouldn t have a headache every day. Thank you for your time.

Hello!

Thank you for your question on HCM! I appreciate your concern.

I think that the symptoms you describe are related to a chronic daily headache or a tension type headache.

I would like to know if your headache gets better during rest or if it worsens form the cough or physical activity.

A low intracranial pressure may also be the cause of your headache, especially if the symptoms worsen during standing up and physical activity.

I would recommend you to start on a tryciclic antidepressant like amytriptiline or nortriptiline.

A measurement of the cerebrospinal fluid pressure by a spinal tap may be necessary (based on the results of your MRI). I would also advise you to consult with a neurosurgeon for another opinion on your brain MRI.

Hope to have been helfpul!

Greetings! Dr. Aida
