Suggest Treatment For Vaginal Thrush

Hi. A couple of days ago I started to feel very uncomfortable intimately and suspected I had vaginal thrush. I have had this on several occations earlier, and like I usually do at those times, I purchased a canesten pessary. I inserted the pessary(tablet) before I went to bed, but when I took the applicator out of my vagina, I noticed that there was blood on the applicator. This has not happened to me before... However, today I started to feel some menstrual cramps, and something that almost felt like contractions (I have three children). My tummy felt hard for a few seconds, then it went back to normal. This only happened about twice. I am wearing a panty liner and there is light pink colour on the panty liner and when I use the bathroom. I am on day 18 of my menstrual cycle and should not expect my period for another week. Does all this sound normal, or should I contact the gynaecologist?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Some blood tinge can be there in yeast infection. But if blood is coming from inside then a pelvic examination should be done by a gynecologist to rule out any pelvic inflammation or infection. Swab test should be done also. Canesten pessary is helpful. It should be used for 5 to 7 days. You can also used intimate wash to normalize your vaginal bacterial flora and PH to prevent and get rid off such infections.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks.
