General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi
Varicocele is tortuous & dilated veins that normally drain the testis. There are several opinions on how it affects fertility. A theory says it increases the temperature inside the scrotum that causing poor sperm count. However, a leading theory suggests that increased oxidative stress reduces the fertility of varicocele patients. It is not well understood yet.

It can be treated surgically only and hopefully your sperm count will become adequate (if your other reports are normal, you are not a smoker & if this is the only cause of infertility)
Thank you for contacting healthcare magic.
