Suggest Treatment For Tuberculosis

Can a transplant patient be tested for TB without complicating his non-immune system? A person where my son works was taken away from the plant today having been diagnosed with TB. My son is a double transplant patient. Received Pancreas/Kidney 6 yrs ago. If all staff have to be tested, I am concerned about the test, It is live virus that is used in the test. YYYY@YYYY

thanks for asking your query
I completely understand your problem
actually tuberculosis is caused by bacteria mycobacterium tuberculosis and the test to see if a person is having exposure to tuberculosis is montoux test in which ppd is used that does not cause tuberculosis and if you r asking about vaccine that is bcg vaccine ,yes that is live vaccine ,but it has a very little role in protecting against pulmonary tb it usually protects against military or meningeal tb .as for me I ll not prefer giving bcg vaccine to an immunocompromised patient but the policies are different in different parts of world.

thanks'
